Paris, 2017

Paris brought a completely different kind of drama. Wandering through the armoury museum, surrounded by centuries of history, it was impossible not to feel dwarfed by the sheer scale of it all — especially standing next to a cannon that had clearly seen more action than we ever would. Watching my wife pose beside it, calm and unfazed, felt oddly fitting; elegant surroundings, serious firepower, and a quiet reminder that Paris has layers far beyond cafés and cobbled streets. It was one of those moments where history suddenly feels very real, captured in a single photo that says far more than words ever could.

Later that evening, back in our hotel room, Paris delivered one of those moments you don’t plan for. As night fell, the Eiffel Tower suddenly lit up outside our window, glowing against the dark sky in a way we hadn’t even realised it did. We stood there for a while just watching it sparkle, the city humming quietly below, feeling like we’d accidentally stumbled upon something special. It was simple, unexpected, and completely unforgettable — one of those travel moments that doesn’t need an itinerary, just the right place at the right time.
