Las Vegas, March 2016

Looking up at the painted ceiling inside Caesars Palace felt like stepping briefly out of Las Vegas and into another world altogether. Soft light, endless sky, and classical details stretched above us, creating this calm, dreamlike contrast to the buzz and excess waiting outside. It was one of those moments where you slow down without realising — just standing there, taking it in, letting the scale and drama of it all sink in. A reminder that Vegas isn’t just about neon and noise, but also about spectacle, escapism, and those unexpected pockets of beauty you stumble across together.

Flying into the Grand Canyon by helicopter was one of those experiences that instantly recalibrates your sense of scale. As we descended, the vastness of it unfolded in layers — towering cliffs, deep shadows, and colours that shifted with every turn of the blades. Standing inside the canyon, looking out from within rather than from the edge, felt humbling in a way photos never quite capture. Everything went quiet, despite how big it all was, and for a moment it felt like time slowed down. It was less about ticking off a landmark and more about being completely present in a place that makes you feel wonderfully small.
